There are a multitude of benefits of installing a PV system in your home. The best known benefits of solar energy are of course environmental – as solar energy is a green, renewable energy resource.
Environmental Benefits of Installing a PV System
Traditional electricity is created by burning fossil fuels (coal, gas and oil) which emit toxic gases, including Carbon Dioxide, causing much pollution and are also the primary cause of global warming. However electricity produced from solar energy doesn’t produce any such emissions and is very much a ‘green’ energy source.
Another benefit of solar energy over fossil fuels is that it is an unlimited, renewable resource; whereas fossil fuels are a finite resource and are quickly running out. Solar power is a sustainable long-term option for electricity production, and is seen by many to be an ideal solution for providing energy on a home by home scale – effectively making people, in terms of energy, self-sufficient within their homes.
Financial Benefits of Installing a PV System
Financially there has never been a better time to go solar at home. In April 2010 the government introduced the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme to encourage people to produce their own solar energy. The scheme basically consists of you receiving payment from the government, for every unit of energy you produce, over the course of time this money had really add up and not only could you save money, but you could also potentially make money! Not only this, but you also receive 3p per Kwh of energy you produce but don’t use, this is paid for by your energy supplier who then use the energy elsewhere.
Caymax panels are one of the world’s leading cell manufacturers – CEEG. Uniquely, Caymax use only A Grade cells and that is why they provide one of the highest performing panels on the market, with cell efficiency in excess of an impressive 16%.
So are Caymax panels any good?
Yes! By using only the best quality cells, Caymax have greater module efficiency than other cells on the market, they suffer less degradation under light exposure and perform superbly in low light conditions. Caymax are so sure on the long-lasting quality of their cells that they guarantee that their power rating will be 90% or more after 10 years, 83% or more after 20 years and at least 80% after 25 years.
The high quality of Caymax panels ensures that you get an efficient product that lasts the test of time.
This was an exciting project for us here at Solargro. We installed a unique inbuilt system from Renusol, that will allow for the customer to generate their own energy as well as having the possibility of selling one any electricity that they don’t use. Solar Panel Installation York
We used the very best Sanyo HIT 240w panels for the job. This particular roof had different pitches (the steepness of the roof changed in simple terms), and so we attached the panels to a Power One 3.6 inverter that has dual capability, effectively doing the job of two inverters in one. Talk about value for money!
The generation system attached is from PV SOL, and shows the CO2 saved by the system. This means that the customer can see exactly how much good their new Solar PV system is doing for the environment.
One of the real plus points of this system is that the customer can expect the Feed in tariff from the Government run scheme to be worth £1500 per year. That’s a few extra pennies in the bank for the customer, showing that Solar PV installations can provide a good return on investment.
