About SolarGro

SolarGro is a division of WarmFloors. WarmFloors is a specialist electric underfloor heating company that has been installing systems nationwide since 2004.

During those years we have installed hundreds of systems mainly in the domestic sector, but we have undertaken contract work for the commercial industry.

Early 2010 WarmFloors decided to diversify into solar PV as this was identified as the next logical step to work along side the underfloor heating market. As a combined company we can now offer you a form of electric heating with a ecofriendly way of producing electric to run the heating system, and better still you get paid to make your own energy!

Feed-In Tariffs: How you make money...

Feed-In Tariffs (FITs) guarantee you an income from clean energy, which is why solar power's often referred to as the 'energy cash back scheme'.

From April 2010 FITs were introduced as a Government-backed measure to pay people for every kilo Watt hour (kWh) of clean energy generated, as part of Britain's commitment to reducing pollution and CO2 in the atmosphere.

Although the scheme lasts for 25 years, the payment levels will decrease each year so the sooner you act the more money you'll return on your investment.

There are three ways that the Tariffs help you to make money:

Generating energy
You earn a fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you generate and use in your property.

Exporting energy
You earn an additional fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you generate and sell back to the grid.

Spending less on energy
When there's no light to generate power for your home, you buy that electricity from your utility company at the normal rates but it'll be much less than you currently pay for and will be offset against the export and generation payments you'll receive.

Ever decreasing tariffs...from April 2010
Be sure you're among those who benefit the most, because the Feed-In Tariffs payments reduces over the next 25 years - it was introduced in April 2010.

Save around £900 per year

Typically, (with 2.5 kWp) you could earn around:

  • - £700 per year from generating (36.1p/kWh)
  • - £30 per year from exporting (3p/kWh)
  • - £170 per year reduction in current electricity bills

This gives a total saving of around £900 per year, assuming 50% (if you work during the day) is exported.

Watt Britain gets

Overall in the UK, up to 850 kilo Watt hours (kWh) of power can be generated annually from every kW installed
